Key Activities & Priorities

Community Education and Advocacy: Help raise awareness locally and statewide about why immigration matters to Southern Vermont’s future – economically, culturally, and socially 

Compiling and Sharing Information: Stay up to date on programs, resources, and policy changes, and help make sure important knowledge is shared and preserved across organizations to extend beyond specific individuals and personal connections 

Policy Advocacy: Advocate for state resources and policies across immigration pathways that recognize the unique economic needs, opportunities, and challenges in rural Southern Vermont 

Building Stronger Networks: Connect and convene existing and new agencies, services, support systems, and partners that facilitate immigration and support newcomers to ensure they can share information, remain up-to-date on relevant resources and changes, and proactively plan for and adjust to new needs 

Strengthening Services: Work with providers of employment, housing, essential services, and the public to help them be ready to engage with immigrants 

Providing Support and Filling Programming Gaps: Provide support – such as space, volunteer coordination, and funding – to help other organizations deliver
