Key Activities & Priorities
● Community Education and Advocacy: Help raise awareness locally and statewide about why immigration matters to Southern Vermont’s future – economically, culturally, and socially
● Compiling and Sharing Information: Stay up to date on programs, resources, and policy changes, and help make sure important knowledge is shared and preserved across organizations to extend beyond specific individuals and personal connections
● Policy Advocacy: Advocate for state resources and policies across immigration pathways that recognize the unique economic needs, opportunities, and challenges in rural Southern Vermont
● Building Stronger Networks: Connect and convene existing and new agencies, services, support systems, and partners that facilitate immigration and support newcomers to ensure they can share information, remain up-to-date on relevant resources and changes, and proactively plan for and adjust to new needs
● Strengthening Services: Work with providers of employment, housing, essential services, and the public to help them be ready to engage with immigrants
● Providing Support and Filling Programming Gaps: Provide support – such as space, volunteer coordination, and funding – to help other organizations deliver
